The wildlife drive was amazing. We saw great blue herons, egrets, several species of ducks, and a spectacular eagle flying past at eye level. We went on an overcast day with some light rain yet still…Full review by Voyager819434

You cannot kayak there, but across the street from the entrance is a boat launch, and you can launch there. Once you launch go to the left, and the river/canal goes along the edge of Montezuma, allowing you to see many birds that would be in the refuge. Just after the thruway it converges with the Clyde River, really pretty for kayaking. There is also Howland Island Wildlife Management, you can kayak all the way around it, and would likely see many birds. Best bet is to look on google maps, or just google Howland Island Wildlife Management. Good Luck!
