Crunchyroll revealed it is helping develop a series adaptation of popular video game Ghost of Tsushima and also said it plans to launch a manga app as a premium add-on for subscribers. The anime outlet made the announcements during Sony Corp.

Legends, the acclaimed samurai multiplayer game, is getting an anime adaptation from Crunchyroll and Sony for 2027.

The anime series will adapt the storyline of ‘Ghost of Tsushima: Legends’, the 2020 co-operative multiplayer follow-up to the original game

I’ve got some exciting new for Ghost of Tsushima fans! Crunchyroll, in collaboration with Aniplex, Sony Music, and PlayStation Productions, has officially announced an anime adaptation of the critically acclaimed video game and its Legends cooperative multiplayer mode.

Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Sony Music, and PlayStation Studios are all collaborating on the upcoming series, which is currently scheduled to premiere in 2027.

Rahul Purini, president of Crunchyroll, said in a news release that the Ghost of Tsushima anime “will offer fans an exciting new way to experience the game in an anime style that will be bold and groundbreaking.

On January 6, 2025, Crunchyroll announced that Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will be getting an anime adaptation on its platform. This is thanks to a collaborative effort between Aniplex, Sony Music, PlayStation Productions, and the developer, Sucker Punch Productions.

‘Ghost of Tsushima: Legends’ is a cooperative multiplayer mode for ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ that released in 2020. In the mode, players can choose from four available classes: Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, or Assassin. ‘Legends’ is separate from the single-player structure of the mothership video game with several common elements intact.
