Sen. John Fetterman is lashing out at former aides who accused him of showing indifference toward his work and of routinely skipping constituent meetings, dismissing them as “disgruntled staffers” pushing “smears” to tarnish his reputation.

The Pennsylvania senator responded to some of the allegations detailed in a Wall Street Journal report last week in new comments to CNN.

While U.S. Sen. John Fetterman made a video appearance at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas on Sept. 9, the Pennsylvania congressman remains a Democrat.

In his statement to CNN, John Fetterman called a recent report from The Wall Street Journal a “hit piece from disgruntled staffers."
