If you thought Kirk Herbstreit just somewhat liked Ohio State football, think again. He’s a self-proclaimed “junkie.”

ESPN “College GameDay” personality Kirk Herbstreit won’t be making a national championship prediction. The national championship is between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Monday, Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish took down the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Orange Bowl on Thursday night, with the final score settling in at 27-24. And even though he wasn't on the call for this game, Kirk Herbstreit found himself getting called out by a fan on social media.

Kirk Herbstreit and Ohio State's fan base have an interesting relationship these days. The ESPN college football announcer played collegiately at Ohio State. His dad, Jim Herbstreit, also played at the school and later coached under Woody Hayes.
