A 53-year-old man was arrested for attempted murder, reckless driving and being unfit to operate a vehicle after ramming into a crowd in Liverpool.

A man who police say drove a minivan into a crowd of Liverpool soccer fans is suspected of attempted murder and driving after using drugs, police say.

Just hours after the episode, the police announced that the driver was a white British man. After previous violence, false anti-Muslim speculation had been spread online.
