Nevada earthquake shakes Sacramento, Stockton and other parts of California
The earthquake at 3:08 p.m. was centered near the central Nevada town of Yerington, about 60 miles southeast of Carson City and about 370 miles northwest of Las Vegas. Moderate to strong shaking was reported in Sacramento, San Francisco, Reno, Carson City, Stockton and other areas.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A preliminary magnitude 5.8 earthquake has struck near Yerington, Nevada. The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck around 3:10 p.m. It was centered about 50 miles east of Carson City, Nevada. People reported feeling it in Reno, Roseville and Sacramento so far. There are no immediate reports of damage.
