Prominent Sri Lankan politicians condemn arrest of ex-President Ranil Wickremesinghe, accusing government of political revenge and violating democratic values.

A hospital official reported that Ranil Wickremesinghe, who has severe diabetes, was admitted for high blood pressure, and is in ‘stable’ condition.

Sri Lanka's jailed former president, Ranil Wickremesinghe, was hospitalised on Saturday, local media reported, a day after his arrest on allegations that he misused public funds while in office.
