A senior lawyer appointed by Reform UK to investigate allegations against suspended MP Rupert Lowe and his team has denied making comments he has attributed to her. The Great Yarmouth MP was referred to the police by his party, which accused him of making threats of violence against its chairman.

Mr Lowe had the Reform whip suspended on Friday and was reported to the police after allegations of threatening violence against the party chairman.

It was the 'right and proper' decision to launch an investigation into Rupert Lowe over allegations of bullying, Reform UK deputy leader Richard Tice said.
