The Texas Rangers are on the fringe of contention in the AL West, and have their bullpen in mind as the MLB trade deadline inches closer.

Semien — nearly two hours after he was struck in the face by a fastball — hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning to clinch the Rangers’ 6-5 win vs. the Atlanta Braves at Globe Life Field. His hit secured a fifth-straight victory for the Rangers and extended a four-series win streak that dates back to before the All-Star break.

The Tigers will pay him the prorated MLB minimum for the remainder of the 2025 season, while the Rangers cover the rest of his $1.5 million salary. The Tigers activated Jackson for Saturday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Comerica Park.

Texas still holds the best team ERA in baseball and by a good margin, 3.18 to the second-place Royals' 3.50. The bullpen of mixed parts and pieces remains among the best in baseball, their ERA second in MLB behind the Astros.

Things could have gone worse for Rocker in the early goings had Adolis Garcia not whipped out the hose and tossed out a runner at home to end a 30+ pitch first inning for the rookie hurler. The Braves also scored a run in the second inning, another struggle-filled inning for Rocker.
