After handing his fellow American a crushing defeat in the US Open quarterfinals Tuesday, Frances Tiafoe held Alex Michelsen in a long embrace while the 22-year-old sobbed on his shoulder.

Tiafoe had just completed an all-time epic comeback against world No. 46 Alex Michelsen, who was playing in his first-ever Grand Slam quarterfinal. After dropping the first two sets, Tiafoe punched back in the third and fourth sets to force a winner-take-all tiebreaker in the fifth.
