A short-lived EF-0 tornado formed in Hammond during a round of heavy Labor Day storms, forecasters with the National Weather Service in New Orleans said Monday night. At about 2:39 p.m. Monday, a tornado formed in a parking lot on West Thomas Street and traveled south-southwest for nearly a mile before dissipating, forecasters said.
