Eleven people were stabbed at a Walmart in Traverse City on Saturday — with six in critical condition — in what a Michigan sheriff said appeared to be a random act.

Chaos unfolded at a Walmart in Michigan after a man burst into the store during a calm shopping afternoon and stabbed 11 people at random, authorities say.

A nonprofit group called the SALT Coalition – an acronym for Spiritual Activists Leading Together – has organized an interfaith prayer vigil for those affected by Saturday’s extreme violence at a Walmart store in the up-north Michigan town.

Police say at least one person is in custody after a "multiple stabbing incident" Saturday afternoon at a Michigan Walmart store.

It is unknown how many people are injured, what the nature of the injuries are, or what the suspect's motive is at this time.
