Weiss Memorial Hospital will be kicked off Medicare and Medicaid programs, and a report suggests it could face closure when it is.

Resilience Healthcare acquired both Weiss and West Suburban Medical Center out of bankruptcy in 2022. Both facilities depend on Medicare or Medicaid to pay for 70% to 80% of their patients.

The government is dropping Weiss from Medicare and Medicaid after months of failing to meet federal standards. Hospital staff say it could close Friday.
