Frightening footage from Pepperdine University’s showed flames licking the windows of the library just feet from sheltering students as a Malibu wildfire raged across the Southern California campus overnight Monday.

Thousands of Southern California residents were under evacuation orders and warnings Tuesday as firefighters battled a wind-driven wildfire in Malibu that burned near seaside mansions and Pepperdine University,

The city of Malibu posted on X at 1:25 a.m., saying “Large animal shelter available at Pierce College in Woodland Hills (6201 Winnetka Ave at Victory Blvd). Brush fire in Malibu Cyn, 3 miles N of PCH.”
