Garrett Crochet got battered around a bit in his first taste of the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry, but he still notched nine strikeouts and got credit for the victory.

Campbell connected on a cutter from Yankees starter Ryan Yarbrough in the second inning and hit a ground-ball RBI single to right field to make it 1-0 Boston. He connected on a changeup (outside bottom corner of the strike zone) from Yarbrough in the third inning and hit it to the opposite field again, putting the Red Sox ahead 6-3.

The Red Sox survived Garrett Crochet’s first shaky start in weeks on Saturday, riding 14 hits to a 10-7 win over the Yankees in New York. The win gives Boston a chance to take the series on Sunday in primetime, with righthander Hunter Dobbins set to go on “Sunday Night Baseball” on ESPN.
