The Boston Celtics announced the acquisition of guard Anfernee Simons on Monday when the Jrue Holiday trade with the Portland Trail Blazers became official. The final trade ended up being a one-for-one swap of Simons for Holiday — a move that saved the Celtics some money in their mission to get under the second apron of the luxury tax.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported that the Celtics are "actively" shopping Anfernee Simons as they attempt to clear more cap space.
