BEREA, Ohio – Browns ownership on Thursday presented its most detailed vision yet for funding a $2.4 billion dome stadium in Brook Park, relying in part taxing stadium users — while insisting it won’t draw from existing city, county or state tax revenues.

The plan projects the stadium cost to be $2.4 billion total, with half of that funded privately. The other $1.2 billion is split up of expected contributions from the state of Ohio ($600 million), Cuyahoga County ($178 million) and the city of Brook Park ($422 million).

The new Cleveland Browns stadium deal has been turning heads since it was proposed. Their first point of contention was the legalities of it potentially being built outside of the Cleveland city limits.

The Haslams are seeking $600M from the state, and $600M from local governments to “match their commitment” of $1.2B on the 65,000-seat stadium.

The plan from the Browns' owners includes a $1.2 billion contribution from the public, which private funders would match. Private funding would also cover any overruns.
