NASA’s Swift space telescope is falling back to Earth after a $30 million rescue mission failed
NASA’s Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory is preparing to fall back through Earth’s atmosphere after a private mission designed to save the spacecraft failed. The telescope, launched in 2004, spent more than 20 years tracking some of the universe’s most powerful explosions before reaching the end of its orbital life.
