The Detroit Lions are out to make a change to the NFL’s playoff format that could leave the NFC South reeling. What the Lions are looking to do is get the league to change the format of seeding and who gets home games in the postseason.

Under the Lions' proposal, wild-card teams could have first-round home playoff games instead of division champs.

Rule changes are submitted each year by any of the 32 NFL teams across the league. To pass and become official, any proposal needs approval from 24 of the 32 NFL voters. The Detroit Lions were the only team to propose any potential bylaw changes during this cycle,
