An air quality alert is in effect for the entire state of Maine and New Hampshire due to a thick plume of smoke from Canadian wildfires.The Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has issued this alert due to elevated levels of particle pollution,

After a hazy end to the weekend, wildfire smoke will continue to pass through Maine in moderate to high amounts today. Particle pollution will be unhealthy for sensitive groups. Highs will vary in the 70s and 80s with a good amount of sunshine.

Hazy conditions will continue on Tuesday across Massachusetts, as the smoke from the Canadian wildfires continues to move through.
