Former Eagles star A.J. Brown is expected to miss four weeks after suffering a suspected high-ankle sprain in his Patriots debut
The New England Patriots will reportedly be without wide receiver A.J. Brown for at least a month after he suffered an ankle injury during Wednesday's season-opening loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Patriots WR A.J. Brown (ankle) will miss at least four weeks. NFL insider Jordan Schultz puts Brown’s return timeline between 3 and 6 weeks. Both reports make Brown a candidate to be placed on short-term injured reserve.
A trade seemed likely, and it eventually happened, with the All-Pro WR joining the New England Patriots. The move was one the Eagles were practically forced into making. But in the eyes of some rival NFL teams, it might've been a mistake.
The New England Patriots traded a 2028 first-round pick to the Eagles to land A. J. Brown this offseason, making him the biggest addition to a roster still looking to bounce back after losing the Super Bowl to the Seahawks last February.
The Seahawks are consensus 3.5-point favorites in tonight's game, which is slightly more than the typical spread given to home teams, all else being equal. Seattle is -175 on the moneyline, while the Patriots are +145. The over/under is set at 44.5.
