Iskcon has remained in the headlines since the arrest of its former member Chinmoy Krishna Das last week on sedition charges in Bangladesh. The religious organisation’s spokesperson in Kolkata has claimed at least three other Hindu monks have been arrested by the Bangladesh police.

Sixty-three Iskcon monks from Bangladesh were stopped from crossing into India at the Benapole border over suspicions despite having valid travel documents. Bangladesh authorities did not provide explanations,

Bangladesh border authorities said they received instructions from higher authorities to deny entry to 54 members of the Hindu spiritual organisation Iskcon into India.
