With its season on the brink of expiration, Arizona rallied past No. 5 national seed North Carolina in highly improbable fashion Sunday.

A pivotal eighth inning gave the Arizona Wildcats a 4-3 comeback victory over the No. 5 North Carolina Tar Heels in the decisive Game 3 of the Chapel Hill super regional to earn a spot in the College World Series.

A 3-run homer by Jackson Van De Brake gave North Carolina a 3-1 lead in the fifth inning, following consecutive singles from Carter French and Kane Kepley. Arizona starter Smith Bailey was charged with those three runs with five hits allowed, four strikeouts and three walks in six innings.
