Southern California is bracing for an "unprecedented" third Particularly Dangerous Situation warning in a month, as extreme Santa Ana winds increase fire danger.

Firefighters continued their efforts on the Palisades and Eaton fires on Saturday, hoping to make as much progress as possible before another round of fire weather is expected to return next week.

Firefighters made progress battling back the deadly Los Angeles County blazes on Saturday, Jan. 18, as President-elect Donald Trump said he likely will visit the fire-torn areas next week. “I will be, probably, at the end of the week,” Trump told NBC News in an interview on Saturday.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect from Monday morning through Tuesday evening over much of Los Angeles, Ventura, Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange, and San Diego Counties due to strong gusty offshore winds and low relative humidity. This includes the cities of Malibu and Pacific Palisades.
