The Trump administration is making rapid changes to the agency's phone procedures to stamp out a relatively small amount of fraud.

Elon Musk and members of DOGE claimed their work would put more money in the hands of Social Security recipients. During an exclusive interview with "Special Report with Bret Baier," DOGE and Musk claimed rampant fraud in the SSA will render America insolvent.

A Ponzi scheme "is a fraud intended to mislead investors," said Christina C. Benson, an Elon University associate professor of business law. "Social Security is a legally mandated system that has been in place since the 1930s to serve as a critically important social safety net that allows working Americans to save towards retirement."
