Missouri Republicans are considering delaying the implementation of a voter-approved minimum wage hike and paid sick leave provisions. The proposed changes aim to balance voter intentions with business concerns,

Proposition A, which will increase the minimum wage to $15 an hour by January 2026, was approved by 57% of voters in November. Now, Missouri's legislature is considering bills that would exempt more businesses or leave out certain employees.

The two bills heard Wednesday are among several filed that would delay, alter or roll back Proposition A’s changes passed by voters in November.
