New England coach Thomas Tuchel recalled striker Marcus Rashford and midfielder Jordan Henderson as he raised eyebrows with his first squad announcement on Friday.

Aston Villa forward Marcus Rashford has been named in Thomas Tuchel's first squad as England manager. Rashford last played for England in a friendly against Brazil in March 2024 but has impressed since joining Villa on loan from Manchester United in January.

Thomas Tuchel's first England squad is in, and it's fair to say there are a few surprises. Seasoned internationals Marcus Rashford and Jordan Henderson have returned, while there are first call-ups for Myles Lewis-Skelly and Dan Burn and no place at all for Morgan Gibbs-White and Jack Grealish.
