LAS VEGAS — The Celtics opened Las Vegas Summer League play with a 92-78 win over the Grizzlies on Friday. First-round pick Hugo Gonzalez tallied 12 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks, and third-year forward Jordan Walsh had 17 points. Center Charles Bassey, a late addition to the roster, added 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Grizzlies rookies Cedric Coward, Jahmai Mashack and Javon Small all missed the game against the Celtics. Coward hasn't been seen with the Grizzlies in Salt Lake City or Las Vegas yet while he continues to get back to full strength from a shoulder injury.
