After world No. 2 Iga Swiatek fell to defeat against Coco Gauff in the United Cup finale in Sydney, fans took to social media to criticise the Polish star.

Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff meet for a 14th time on the WTA Tour and it is Swiatek who leads the head-to-head 11-2. It was Gauff who won the last meeting however at the WTA Finals in Saudi Arabia at the end of 2024 but it is hard to pay too much attention to that one given the fact Swiatek had not played since the US Open and clearly was not hugely motivated to play that tournament.
