Bharti Airtel confirmed its 'bilateral discussions' with the Tata Group to consider merging Tata Play's DTH business with Bharti Telemedia.

The potential merger would combine Airtel’s DTH business, Bharti Telemedia Limited, with Tata Group’s DTH business, Tata Play Limited. The merger would create a larger and more efficient DTH company, which would be better positioned to compete in the Indian market.

Airtel has also announced its collaboration with Ericsson to roll out 5G Standalone (SA) network technology. This partnership aims to enhance Airtel's network capabilities, ensuring a seamless transition to a full-scale commercial 5G SA network over time.
