President Donald Trump has sparked fresh speculation about his health after his face appeared droopy at a memorial for the September 11 attacks. The right side of the 80-year-old president’s face drooped significantly as he sat on stage at the Pentagon during a memorial service in which he also struggled to stay awake.
The National September 11 Memorial and Museum commemoration at Ground Zero in New York this morning will center on the victims of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, as well as the World Trade Center bombing in 1993. During the ceremony, the names of all 2,983 fallen will all be read by family members of victims.
The competing controversies highlighted the intensely political atmosphere surrounding the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
Solemn ceremonies at ground zero in New York, and across the United States, will mourn the thousands of lives lost. President Trump is scheduled to speak at the Pentagon.
The 80-year-old president’s eyes closed for extended periods, and his head rocked back and forth as he sat on stage at the Pentagon, where he and first lady Melania Trump attended a service on the 25th anniversary of the terror attack. Clips of the president dozing quickly went viral online.
The Pentagon's 9/11 Observance Ceremony is scheduled to begin around 9 a.m. Eastern Friday. The ceremony is not open to the public, but it will be livestreamed by the Department of War and the White House, while also carried by multiple news outlets.
Trump allegedly said in a Truth Social post that he planned to replace the memorial with a massive statue in his likeness.
