An Arkansas woman is facing the unimaginable, losing both her father and brother in the wildfires that continue to rage in California.

According to 2023 data from the Arkansas Forestry Division, 55% of the state is covered in forests. ARKANSAS, USA — As fires continue to race through Southern California, local fire officials throughout Arkansas are weighing in on local preparedness should a wildfire occur in the area.

At least 50 million people were under a winter storm warning as of Thursday as the storm spreads along the Gulf Coast Friday, according to the weather service. The storm should weaken by Saturday, bringing lighter snow between 1 and 3 inches to parts of the Northeast, the Mid-Atlantic and the Ohio Valley before exiting off the Carolinas.
