The Chiefs have become synonymous with the AFC Championship game. Kansas City will be playing in its seventh consecutive title game after defeating the Texans 23-14. The game was scrutinized, as most Chiefs games are, for the perceived favoritism shown by the refs for Kansas City, but really, Houston couldn't get out of its own way.
Mahomes and Allen have been linked throughout their careers. The former was drafted in 2017 but sat a year behind Alex Smith. Allen was drafted in 2018 and played in 12 games as a rookie. Both quarterbacks have comparable skills and stats and have been considered the future of the game for the past four years.

Texans now know opponent for AFC Divisional Round
The Houston Texans, who rolled past the Los Angeles Chargers in a 32-12 victory at NRG Stadium on Saturday, will face the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round of the AFC Playoffs. The game will be either Jan. 18 or 19 but has not yet been scheduled.
