Jack Flaherty and Kenta Maeda combined to allow four runs in five innings in the Detroit Tigers' 6-5 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Thursday.

The Detroit Tigers made their first cuts of the spring on Wednesday night. Right-handed pitchers Wilmer Flores and Wilkel Hernandez; catcher Eliezer Alfonzo; and infielder Eddys Leonard were reassigned to minor-league camp.
