A positive step – FIFA’s Gianni Infantino defends Saudi Arabia World Cup awardFIFA president Gianni Infantino has defended awarding the 2034 World Cup to Saudi Arabia and his close relationship with United States president Donald Trump.
FIFA, in an opaque ruling, said that only nations from CONCACAF and Africa would be eligible to host the 2031 Women's World Cup. The U.S. and Mexico have said they'll bid.
"But at the same time we hope that (FIFA president) Mr. (Gianni) Infantino will grant us, as Africans and Egyptians, the honour of hosting and organising one of the World Cup groups in 2034." ...
