Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports said Saturday that Josh McDaniels is a name to watch to potentially join Mike Vrabel’s coaching staff should he get the Patriots’ job.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, there's "buzz" that Josh McDaniels could return as offensive coordinator of the Patriots.

“There is buzz in some coaching circles that Josh McDaniels could be a prime candidate to be Vrabel's offensive coordinator. That would be quite the nostalgia tandem, and though McDaniels is a two-time failed head coach, no one disputes his coordinator chops,” Jeremy Fowler reported.

The New England Patriots are on the verge of hiring their third head coach in as many seasons with all indications pointing to Mike Vrabel becoming the next man up in Foxborough. The priority will then shift to filling out the rest of the coaching staff,

Mike Vrabel ‘s Patriots interview will take place today, and with the Patriots having satisfied the Rooney Rule, they could make a hire soon. Though, both Lions coordinators — Ben Johnson, Aaron Glenn — have received requests as well. Johnson’s interview is set for Friday.
