Max Verstappen says he expects to have “many more battles” with F1 rival and friend Lando Norris. The Red Bull driver finished fifth, one place ahead of Norris, at the Las Vegas Grand Prix to clinch his fourth consecutive world championship with two races remaining this season.

While Lando Norris is no longer in contention for his first WDC, he's convinced that with Max Verstappen's early success in the 2024 campaign, a championship would've always been a Herculean task.

It was only in Miami, where Norris took the first win of his Formula 1 career, that anything amounting to a “title fight” kicked off. His McLaren team had brought a comprehensive slate of upgrades to the Miami International Autodrome, and they worked much better than anyone had anticipated.

Lando Norris is confident he will be able to challenge - and beat - Max Verstappen to the F1 world championship next season. The McLaren driver saw his slim hopes of winning a maiden world title end in Las Vegas after finishing sixth and one place behind Red Bull’s Verstappen, who was crowned world champion for the fourth successive time.

Max Verstappen’s fourth consecutive championship triumph in 2024 has also put a spotlight on how it went wrong for his main rival Lando Norris.
