Rain is headed our way on Thanksgiving. And it is sorely needed, but the timing is less than ideal. Whether you plan on flying, driving, or staying at home for the holiday, it could be raining on your parade in more ways than one.

A winter storm heading toward the Tri-State area could produce heavy rain and even snow for parts of New York state, snarling travel for millions of people during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Thursday will be a First Alert Weather Day as steady rain, wind and cooler temperatures arrive. Places north and west of New York City may also see some snow . Holiday travelers will catch a break Wednesday, but unfortunately they will have to navigate some wet weather on Thanksgiving.
