The mistake happened while the Qatari-donated jet was parked on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews. It delayed President Trump’s departure to a Republican convention in Dallas.

The emergency slide on the new Qatari-gifted Air Force One was accidentally triggered by military personnel earlier Wednesday, according to a person briefed on the situation. President Trump’s trip to Dallas was delayed after the inflatable emergency slide was deployed from the side of the plane.

"I think the war is going to end immediately after the election," Trump said on Sept. 9, as he prepared to depart for the GOP's midterm convention.
