30-year-old Kevin Alexander Carlson, of Chico, was arrested in connection to the suspected arson. The arrest was announced by California State Parks on Jan. 3. The fire itself started early on Dec. 11 and caused severe damage to the 26-room building, which was undergoing renovations before the fire broke out.
