Blades Brown, 17, is making his pro debut at this week's 2025 American Express. On Friday, he's showing why he belongs on the game's biggest stage.

Starting on the back nine, Brown parred the 10 th and made a bogey at on the par-5 11 th. But then he caught fire. He had eight birdies in a nine-hole stretch – including six in a row starting at No. 12 – to close with a round of 8-under 64.

The 17-year-old Nashville native, already etched in golf’s record books, draws inspiration from Nick Dunlap’s victory at La Quinta last year.

After undergoing more test, doctors instead determined Parke had Hairy Cell Leukemia—a rare form of the disease that can’t be cured but is treatable with chemotherapy and frequent blood monitoring.
