Boston celebrated its Centennial, with Sunday’s game taking place exactly 100 years after their first game in franchise history, a 2-1 win against the Montreal Maroons on Dec. 1, 1924. The Bruins held a pregame ceremony that featured tribute videos and appearances from franchise legends such as Bobby Orr, Ray Bourque, Patrice Bergeron and more.

Charlie McAvoy scored two goals — one coming when Boston scored three times in 70 seconds during the opening period — and the Bruins celebrated the 100th anniversary of their first NHL game with a 6-3 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday.

The Montreal Canadiens finish their weekend twofer at TD Garden against the Boston Bruins. Although the game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m., the Bruins will celebrate their 100th anniversary with a pregame ceremony expected to last until 4:15 p.m. (SN, RDS, TSN Radio 690, 98.5 FM).
