By Nathan Layne DALLAS, Sept 10 (Reuters) - One year after Charlie Kirk's assassination, the organization he co-founded, Turning Point USA, has grown dramatically, expanding its presence at colleges and high schools and cementing itself as a force in Republican politics.

A year after Charlie Kirk’s assassination, no one has taken his place as the face of Turning Point USA and a standard-bearer of the MAGA movement.

When Charlie Kirk was assassinated last September, many of his allies on the right memorialized him as a hero of free speech and the founder of an enduring political movement. Critics on the left tended to emphasize his long history of offensive remarks and dismiss him as little more than a troll.

“It wasn’t politics — it had nothing to do with politics,” talk show personality Glenn Beck said from the stand. For the 5,000 gathered in-person at the Turning Point USA “Freedom Built to Last” event, politics became almost an afterthought. There was no mention of Republican or Democrat.
