PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — West Virginia University is reportedly targeting Rich Rodriguez to be its next football head coach.

Pete Thamel of ESPN broke the news via an X post on Wednesday evening, Dec. 11, that Rodriguez is the likely hire for WVU again now 24 years later.

Rodriguez, 61, was the head coach at West Virginia from 2001-2007 and he played defensive back for the Mountaineers from 1981-1984.
