The Google Home Gemini Extension has finally rolled out to everyone. After months of the Gemini Extension being in preview or beta mode, it’s now widely available for iOS and Android users with the Gemini app – here’s what you need to know about how it works and how to use it.

Just open the Gemini app, tap your profile avatar in the top-right corner of the screen and select “Extensions.” From there, scroll down to “Device Control” and flick the toggle on Google Home to enable it, and then agree to “Connect Google Home”.

Google’s Gemini AI assistant can now recall past conversations to provide more relevant responses if you have a subscription to Gemini Advanced via Google One AI Premium. With the update, you’ll no longer have to recap previous chats or search for a thread to pick up a conversation,
