Heavy rain and high winds for Impact Weather Wednesday
Meteorologist Ava Marie says it will be an Impact Weather day for Wednesday as a string of storms hits the area this afternoon. It will start out as scattered showers in the morning before becoming heavier around 1 p.
FIRST WARN FORECAST: Heavy rain, storm activity turns to snow and extreme wind overnight
After the snow stops, the winds will continue to be strong. Winds for the remainder of the day will be sustained from the northwest at 30 to 35 mph with gusts to 55 mph and will “slow” to sustained around 20 to 30 mph later in the day. It will be a drastically colder day, with high temperatures only reaching the mid-30s.
Heavy rain, gusty winds move into New England Wednesday
An early March storm packing heavy rain and gusty winds is on its way to New England, with the bulk of the system arriving Wednesday evening. Some light, scattered showers will start the day and continue into the afternoon across Greater Boston and much of Southern New England, but the heavy rain will hold off until after the evening commute.
