An urban core Jacksonville neighborhood on the rise will be boosted by a presence from the state’s flagship university. A committee of the University of Florida’s (UF) Board of Trustees decided to put the campus in the LaVilla neighborhood, setting the stage for a full board vote on Friday.

The University of Florida has officially selected an area in LaVilla near the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center as the site for the school’s new graduate campus in Jacksonville.

A $300 million UF graduate campus and $80 million semiconductor institute will go in Prime Osborn Convention Center area of downtown.
