The gray seal, named “Chappy,” was admitted to the Mystic Aquarium’s Animal Rescue Clinic on Feb. 16 after being discovered near the downtown of New Haven, Connecticut. While he was initially recovering from dehydration, malnutrition, and mild pneumonia, he eventually succumbed to gastrointestinal issues.

Many are sad to hear about the passing of Chappy, the gray seal pup found in the streets of New Haven. His story brought a lot of attention to the Mystic Aquarium, highlighting their efforts to help him through his illness and other marine wildlife in need.
