While much of the postgame buzz centered on James’ double-digit scoring streak coming to an end, Lakers legend Magic Johnson took to X to spotlight Reaves’ breakout night – and make his case for All-Star inclusion.

The Orlando Magic have advanced to the knockout round of the NBA Cup. Desmond Bane scored 37 points and grabbed two crucial offensive rebounds as the Magic beat the the Detroit Pistons 112-109 on Friday night.

Magic Johnson is widely considered one of the greatest players in NBA history. Johnson led the Los Angeles Lakers to five NBA titles during his time with the historic franchise. Led by some high-level defense and All-NBA play from Cade Cunningham, Detroit owns the best record in the East (17-5) to begin December. However, the top story for the Pistons in 2025-26 is the emergence of Jalen Duren. The big man is posting 19 points and 11 rebounds a game, and has been one of the best centers in the NBA to begin the season.

Check out all of the action around a 9-game night in the NBA. Giannis Antetokounmpo suffered a calf strain in the opening minutes, but the Bucks rallied to grab a win over the top-seeded Pistons. They rode a 35-24 fourth quarter to their comeback victory. The Bucks shot 49 percent from the field while holding the Pistons to 40 percent shooting.

The Miami Heat (14-8) travel to the Kia Center to face the Orlando Magic (13-9) in this Friday night NBA matchup.
