It's not easy beating green, as the New York Knicks were far too willing to prove throughout last regular season. They pulled it off, however, when it mattered most. New York will have to duplicate the feat three more times for it to prove particularly memorable but their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the defending champion Boston Celtics got off to a sterling start via a 108-105 overtime victory in the Monday night opener at TD Garden.

The Boston Celtics and New York Knicks squared off in a nail-biter on Monday night, going to overtime in their Game 1 matchup to get the second round of the playoffs underway. The Celtics, and Boston fans, have grown frustrated with their inability to secure a Game 1 win and take advantage of home-court advantage.

Neither player was able to return to the game, so the empty injury report was short-lived, and the Celtics must wait until Game 3 for it to potentially be empty again. Head coach Joe Mazzulla was able to give an update on the availability of both Hauser and Porzingis the next morning.
